The highly-anticipated release day for Ariana Grande's new album Sweetener has finally arrived. As fans continue to decode the album for clues, the pop star has been reveling in the release day fun and was spotted literally letting her hair down for the occasion. Dedicated Grande fans probably recall when the star changed things up while on tour in Chicago back in June. At the time, her hairstylist, Josh Liu, took to Instagram Stories to say “Y’all need to relax.” Clearly, fans cannot do so, since the superstar’s only publicly worn her hair down a handful of times, including the 2018 MTV VMA’s. Last year Grande gave us a peek at how her natural curls were thriving underneath the ponytail hairpieces with four selfies on Instagram. Her fans went crazy, and the image earned 1.5 million likes.

"So as annoying as it is for y'all to have to look at the same hair style all the time, it's all that works for now," Grande explained. She looked up in the second picture and showed off her glittery makeup. Ariana Grande showed a different side of her, as she opted not to wear her signature ponytail. She may have gone without her ponytail for her album release day, but as Ari told The Fader back in May, "the pony has also gone through an evolution, and I'm proud of that. Old pony? I don't know if she's that girl. But new pony? I like her."
